Creatures of Myth and Legend Challenge

Creatures of Myth and Legend challenge will have art based on the creatures attached to culture. This will include demons, dragons, gryphons, and some strange birds.
Though many tv shows have odd creatures, that are part of our modern culture, we can't do anything that's copyright protected. Stick to the public domain monsters.
The subject of Dinosaurs, plants, (real) sea creatures, robots, cyborgs, and people (wizards, witches, and lawyers), should be saved for other prospective or past challenges, that will focus on these things. If you modify a mythological creature, like a cyborg mermaid, try not to push it too far.
Realistic images please!
-Have good lighting: At least have GI turned on if you're not practiced on complex lighting. And include an omni. HDRI lighting using vray might get you frist place.
-If your computer can't handle the fur with 3d, try compositing the detail in photoshop
-Before submitting your work, touch up in photoshop! You don't get extra points for doing every little thing in 3dsmax.
