Hey everyone! I am new here, this sounds like a total neat forum.

I am using 3DMAX 2009

I have a problem with my rendering. Just so you guys know i am a total beginner. I've been working on this project for ages, everything is going well until i tried to render my project using V-ray. I looked up tutorials online and a tutorial sugguested a list to change on the render setup and i thought aha, why not try it. and ahh if only i didnt, my rendering wont show the materials anymoree. All i see is random colors. like red, purple, green. I cant see the materials ive assigned - e.g leather, chrome.

Can somebody pleaseeee help? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks aaaww.gif

yeah, its probably best to work with the standard renderer until you are familiar with the program. People could give you loads of vray advice here but its pretty fullon stuff. gotta learn the basics before jumping into GI renderers. Still, vray should still display any standard materials in the material editor. and if in doubt you can get the material editor to render its preview spheres with vray by unlocking the box just under where you assign a new renderer and changing it to vray. that will make vray previews of materials but it can be slow. its usually better to leave it scanline for material previews.
