Hey guys,
Since moving over from magazine design and getting involved with 3D renders for architecture visuals I wondered if you may be able to give me some advice please. I am looking to build a 3D workstation, and I am not very knowledgable about what kind of system, motherboard, graphics would be excellent for the odd 3d architectural render? I guess the most important thing I need is speed and lots of RAM, and I dont want to break the budget too much, I think I have around £500 pounds UK to play with.

Would you guys please be able to advise the kind of setup I would require please? It would be great to hear what system you guys reckon I should look at putting together! Thanks in advance for any pointers, I'll use it for Max 2009, Autocad 2009, Vray and Photoshop mainly. Thanks again! : )

CPU is also important for rendering speeds and you'll want a decent graphics card for viewport speeds. I'm not sure what 500 pounds will get you as I don't know how much you need to pay for a decent system over there.
