Hello
....here are the tutorials that i have found about water
[Link to www.freeitsolutions.com]
some of them are nice but here is what i want:

i want to create a beach scene : with sea and waves (with animation of the waves that come and go would be wonderful...like in this picture [Link to www.flickr.com] for example)...can anyone point at a good sea tutorial??? The base of the sea is a plane with texture and the waves are separated objects with their own texture and movement???

...i think it will be nice that we all participate to a project...with documentation and modeling....and if we realize something nice we can post it on sites for others to learn

Anything involving complex fluids such as waves like in the picture is going to be very difficult. Even getting a still would involve some pretty serious modeling. It would be easier to start with a calm ocean gently lapping at the shore (I should be a romance writer), it would be a better place to start. You also might want to look into a program called realflow which is good for fluid simulation.

for now i am concentrating on sand beach texture.....i've made so many but none is quite the way i want it...

it is true you should be a romance writer wink.gif)...do it now cause the end of the world is coming smile.gif

wow I better forget about 3d and start getting laid. wink.gif

You could get tricky with a few layers of water and animate them maybe with morpher or just by hand or an FFD. but materials will be very important to get it working. theres a nice example in final fantasy 8 but I can't find the scene on youtube.

Wow, that's a pretty darn good start. You might want to start a new thread in the 3d wips section.
