Hi Folks
I hope you can me help here. I've bought the 3DSMax 9 bible, and I 'm working through the Quick start, Animating a dancing Moose section, but I keep hitting a barrier,
I'll explain, I reach section 4 in the Modeling the character section, try to maximise the front viewport using the Max viewport toggle button, and the four viewports go white, and nothing like th example on page 6 ( Fig QS.2 ) and I can't find the control for viewport title, tghat would enable me to right click and select smooth & highlights option. What am I doing wrong?

i downloaded the 3ds max 9 bible from internet a few days ago. got it from the torrent. i also saw the Qs-2 The rascoon character with an attached head fig.
i don't know why the viewports go white.... but for smooth + highlight option , u have to right click on the viewport's name ...for eg: right click on the place where Front is written and u'll get the menu.

Try toggling maximise viewport and changing views etc.. T for top, L for left, P for perspective etc.. also F3 and F4 will change your viewport shading F3 is wire frame to smooth shaded and F4 is shaded wireframe. F2 shades a sub object selection in red.
