any knows why I can't put a tiled texture on a 2d shape (extrude)
works better in box to make a wall ...


im asking this coz its easy to use 2d shape than setting up 3d objects in architectural design..

you need to have UV mapping. box primitives have automatic UV texture coordinates. an extruded spline needs to have a uvw map applied.

apply texture first then use UVW map u mean??

You can apply the texture before or after you add uvw mapping. Although you will need to see the texture in the viewport so you can adjust the uvw map modifier and the texture settings correctly.

It's a good rule to follow, when your uvw mapping looks wrong you want to adjust your uvw mapping.
