I think you mean how to change the resolution of the viewport textures. For an image plane.

I'm not sure of this myself as I've never had to do it. Someone else might know though.

Already been done and awnsered by me!

If you go to customization>preferences>viewports>configure display driver and set the download bitmap texture size to best fit(highest quality) then it looks great There are also options to show it as 128, 256, 512 and 1024 aswell. Default is 256 I think.
