i don't have any idea abt animation as i'm still on modelling, lighting & texturing. I guess u can start with simple box modelling. Well... u want to model a floppy disk or floppy drive??

yea... i want to but its hard for me.. coz i just started this month.. =\ i wanted to make a detailed one.. even if I open the floppy disk or the drive there are the parts of it inside too ambitious for me.. =(

Hey , don't know if this is what you need.
start with a box, i guess. or look around for tutorials of on how to make certain shapes.
