Hey, just wondered if any of you experienced within Architectural Visualisation have any advice regarding the current market demand for experienced visualisers. My day job is Art director for a magazine, however I'd like to possibly diversify into Architectural Visualisation, is there a huge demand for freelance designers? What is the average pay? Are there any established channels to network and find work etc? Any of you guys doing this for a living? It would be interesting to hear from people experiences within the industry. Thanks in advance for any feedback! Niksta : )

Yes, I can attest to a great demand that there was a few years ago, ofcourse Im im Puerto Rico so I wouldnt know what the demand is internationaly. But for what it is here a small island with little development, we've made some great stuff and the pay is good, but your value as an artist is what can set you appart from the rest. as a freelance artist you should be able to put your own price, and if you market yourself well it shouldnt be a problem finding work and proffeting from it as well.

Freelance is when you work for yourself, and look for jobs as an Independant artist. I do that on my spare time for some extra cash.

Also means "Contract Work" as in you and the "company" sign a contract for you to do some of their work, or work they cannot do. (ie. no health insurance, no company stocks, no benefits...blah blah blah)

musashiroth, nice to hear from your experience and sharing your insight, I envy you greatly! haha! I must say Puerto Rico sounds idyllic, on your days off do you get a chance to chill by the pool sipping cocktails? hehe. Good on ya, sounds like the perfect job!

haha, yeah it's fun, I love it! I live right infront of the beach, and next to most of the hotel clubs in the San Juan area, so I get to have fun often. Plus I love what I do, and the reaction I get from my clients is awsome. I say if you do what you love, then love is what you do!.. if that makes any scence hahaha.
