Hi, I'm not the best at 3d max and have only used bipeds before when animating a character. I've recently made a very basic bunny rabbit that can be animated very simply. However, I would like to make his ears flop up and down and thought I would use bones to do this.

I made the bones inside his ears and added them to the body's skin modifier. However, when I move the whole body just using the move tool, it leaves the bones behind. When I try linking the bones to the body, I get an error message saying that it can't do it.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong as I haven't used bones before.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Once your bones are linked to the mesh you will have to move the bones to move the mesh. It might be easier to use a mesh select modifier, select the ears and then add a bend modifier and animate it that way. Or instead of bend, use a flex modifier.
