You know, I have been using 3DS Max for about 8 or 9 years now and I have never used backburner. This things is so awesome. Even if you just install it on your own system. You can set up several renders and walk away. No more waiting on one to finish to be able to go back and start another. How did I ever do without.
Anyway, I was inspired to set it up on my home network due to the massive rendering I am having to do on my underwater animation for a new fishing lure product. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up and use. Now I just need to install DR for VRay for my hi-detailed still renders.

having distributed rendering set up on a network is pretty damn fun. watching 20 or so buckets dance across the screen on a still is awesome. I tried setting it up on my home network and it seemed to be working but the render times were actually worse. probably something to do with my older machines slowing down the faster one I guess. Its probably better to have a few machines of near equal specs.
