this is the projct im doing right now...basement of a house..not totally finish and done...i need some comments and advice...thanks
i wish i can do that too......
i need more practice....
Its looking really good, pretty funky, reminds me of a nightclub. I think you need to do two things in general which will improve your work,
1. start to experiment with designing the actual shape of your lights. at least the ones we see. build some light models, they could be quite elaborate especially in a groovy downstairs pad like this. Having interestingly shaped lights you can also have more interesting light patterns from them, so use IES files to add some extra realism and details. Vray has the vray ies light type. Try and light your scenes more dramatically using light to really give the scene mood. by that I mean think of a lighting situation that is almost the focus of the piece. sun streaming in the window or little candles on the tables. The temptation is to just add enough lights to get the room bright enough but try and really push your Gi settings to reflect a specific lighting situation.
2. more details in your models. and more props lying around to make things look interesting. Check out the wire frame on this image from archinteriors. Note that the couch has all these folds and the table is quite intricate. the room is very clean but there are a few props to focus on and the lighting is very dramatic when its just coming from the exterior sunlight. they have large vray lights outside the windows in this scene.
