Hey Guys and Gals,

I recently posted a pictue in the gallery section, of a photo of Big Ben (taken by my Dad, posted on his behalf) and was requested to post a similar poost within the photo's section.

The image can be found in my Gallery, or can be viewed here: [Link to s25.photobucket.com]

It was suggested by Jamie that the Gaussian Blur may be effecting the detial - any ideas on how I (by "I" I mean how I could recommend my Dad) could alter and improve on this? ideally I high defenition style image would be awesome, and I think could look amazing, though I currently really like the look of this image (again though, the sky all blended would look really sweet too ... so many choices tongue.gif)

Okay first of all, I read in your other post that you saved it in paint... for the sake of next time try saying it using photoshop... if you dont have photoshop then im fair sure you can get photoshop elements cheap. Hell Ill give you my serial number for free... i havent ever used it since having cs3.

Its shot on a Nikkon D200... wich leads me to believe that this is a massssive image all in composite with beautiful detail... that interests me alot. Id LOVE to see it printed up MASSIVE in all its massive sized glory with its intense detail on some really high quality fine art paper. Do that detail some justice, hang it on the wall and be proud of it because each shot individually looks technically correct... But first before you do that...

Jamie mentioned something about the sky being missing... That doesnt fuss me at all. I think thats a preference thing... so if you dig it keep it the way it is.

This gautian blurring... it kind of works off in the distance (the left side of the image) and even a bit down the bottom... but not where the building blends into the sky. thats breaking this beautiful image. Also the golden light on the part of the building is stunning... but its a bit muddy on the rest of the image. Maybe if possible try to allow the building to all be that colouration.

You have something that i could see printed massively and put up on a wall in someones house somewhere. I cant believe im about to say this (because i tend to push for more post production than most people) but let go of some of the post production, let those really lovely golden colours at the front shine through and ease up on that gautian blur.

You have something that could be amazing, just a tiny bit more work is gonna make it shine.

wow Gee, thanks a lot - I dont have photoshop, but after the comments (from all people) I might download a free trial and have a bit of a play around with the image.

(you are right by the way - the original size, in Microsoft ICE was around 2BG, as all the images taken were show in raw, haahhaa) then it was played with in photoshop (by Dad) and he got it down to around 15mb.

I'll pass on the messages to him, he has improved his photoshop skills since this was taken (feb 2009) so if he changes / adds to it, I'll repost and keep you all updated

once again, cheers for the comments, forums like this rock grin.gif
