Hi, hope someone can help me.. i have my model and biped all rigged workign well, i need to attatch barbells and dumbells to either one or both of his hands and have them move as if he was holding them, at the moment im moving them independently from the hands and it looks ok but im sure i could get better results if i attached the bar to his hands some how? is this possible? I sometimes need the bar attached to both hands or sometimes just a dumbell to one hand.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Animation isn't my strongest area, but I know that it can be done using IK I think. Tyson might have to take this one...

Sounds like you solved it yourself, but just in case, I'd say the best way to work with biped in that way would be to use the dumbell as an Ik object, then it can either effect the chain in IK or be free depending on the kind of keyframe you set in the biped menu. ie: planted key, sliding or free key.

I'm really not a fan of biped for many reasons. I'd recommend taking a look at CAT
character animators toolkit: [Link to www.softimage.com]

It works using standard max keyframing tools and seems alot more intuitive,
plus I just noticed the lastest version has some sort of muscle system included.
The free demo has no time out or restrictions except that after 20 saves you have to purchase. nice transparent demo in my opinion. If anyone has time to test this out please post your findings and opinions.
