Hi there, me again ^^

Yeah, as the title already says, I have a render problem. Every time I render a scene with Scanline Default Render somewhere in the picture one or several black bars show up out of nowhere and mess up my picture. I don't know what's causing this problem. I don't have the problem with the mental-Ray Renderer but he has other issues. Usually the Scanline Renderer didn't mees up everything like that but I had to reinstall the programm after I caught a virus and since I reinstalled 3D Max it has this problem. I'm grateful for every advice, look at the picture to see what I mean.

Could it be your topology? Can you please post a wire frame of the model.

Thanks for your answer, Jamie. This malfunction was somehow related to the scene. I solved it by importing the robot model into another scene I already used for another model. There it worked without this error... So it was something about the scene configuration I guess... I don't know.. strange things tend to happen. Thanks anyways wink.gif

!?! It's clearly some mesh that's not being rendered correctly.

But it has been rendered correctly in another scene... In the pics below you won't find an error like this, and as I said I just rendered the same model in another scene. I know it's odd...

Can you see any problems in the viewport?

Have you tried the old "merge the file into a new scene and hope everything is fixed" trick?

It seems like it was probably a corrupt file rather than a setting or a glitch you could track down. just forget it until it happens again.
