attach the lines into one spline with the attach button. then choose the two vertices. press the fuse button to move the two points to the same spot then the weld button to join them into one vertex.

no tyson i think he means that he needs to create edges (segments) between vertices, not weld them....
i tried it out, and like he says, the first time it allows you to connect vertices after attaching, but subsequently, it doesn't...will try and work it out

I'm a bit confused now. do you mean create a cross section?. Eg. you have two lines and you want to connect them to make a surface.
If thats it you need to attach the lines and use the cross section button then drag click from line to line to create segments joining the vertices.
then you need a surface modifier or edit patch. You could also use the connect refine tool to add new vertices and connect them as you go.

@Tyson: the CrossSect tool seems to be working a bit weird for me...take a look at the screenshots (first 3)...it creates extra connections?!

@jovanie: here's a solution if you just want to connect vertices....turn 3D snap on, check the "Vertex" checkbox in the snap menu, and use "Create Line"...it should solve your problems...i've included snapshots (last 2)

i tried doing that but after I connect using the "Create Line" on 8 different lines then modify it or extrude or something the vertices or the lines messed up..

after you use Create Line to connect any 2 vertices, drag a box around the vertices you connected and make sure it says "2 vertices selected"...otherwise find the place with more than 1 vertex, and weld them.....

do i need to attach them first?? or what will I do first before that?
