Hey guys, I'm pretty new here and hopefully someone can help answer my question because I've been stumped FOR DAYS!!!.
Went everywhere online and couldn't find a helpful hint.
Anyways, I am a 3ds max 9 user and I was creating a brick texture for my building. I used UVW map and used box mapping. Well that was fine UNTIL I rendered it out. I am using Mental Ray to render, but for some reason my bricks(after rendering) look squished and compact. But when I look at my model, my bricks look normal size.
Why is that? How can I fix it??

I wish I could attach images to show you, but I don't know how?

What do they look like in scanline or a different renderer? Just to rule out MR playing tricks.

heres a closer version in scanline render. Some of it is blacked out because It's in mental ray, but just focus on the bricks

seems to be the same. Heres another closer Print Screen so you can see the difference.

I don't know why the render looks so different than the actual model. It's frustrating. This is the first time I ran into this problem. My other model(similar to this one) didn't give me this type of problem.

when I try the checkers map, Everything seems to be good(i tried in Vray 1.5 AND mental ray). Do you think it's the brick material??

If so, why do you think so? I have no idea why it could just be the brick texture? I'm going to try another brick texture.

Odd. Let us know if the new brick texture works.

The only thing I can think of is that it could be using the wrong mapping channel. but then you would have needed to change that on purpose.

ya, I tried to use another brick material and it works fine. I get the proper spacing on it after the render and on the model

I have NO IDEA why that happened

That's odd. I'll put it as solved as it may help someone who uses that exact texture in the future.
