Hello
Iīm a new user of the program and I have a problem to solve. Iīm about building a sailboat, I have made sections in photoshop and wish to make a 3d model of the boat. I canīt import the file to 3d max. Donīt know how i could fix the job.

What do you mean when you say you've made the sections in photoshop? Do you mean the reference images?

Thats right! First thing I did was to make a drawing on a paper, than I scan the picture in to photoshop, itīs easy to make path in that program with pen tool, I havenīt found a similar tool in 3dmax. (totaly newbe on the prog)
I will start to build a small model of the boat, so every 100mm from the stern to bow I will make sections, (14 of them) and finaly I hope to lay a "skin" that will be the shelving/tabling on the real boat.

Hope this is possible. Hope to se on a computerpicture if the drawings looks good and proper.

Thats not how 3d modelling works. You can make Splines which are like paths, but making a 3d model is not as simple as drawing paths.

Here is a simple modelling tutorial:

As varnished said you can work with splines in max but you won't be able to use what you've done other than for reference. Have a look at the images below:

Image 1: Create your splines follow the curve of the hull.
Image 2: Drag out cross section to link all the sections:
Image 3: Add a surface modifier.

It links them all the separate sections up at their vertices. Compare the second image with thte first one in my example.

Well the surface modifier won't work unless all the sections are linked up. It's not a tool I use a great deal but it's handy in this case.
