Hey Tyson,

I am told you are the man to talk to about tips for animating a building collapse.

I was thinking about using fracture, or even just simulating in realflow. Any ideas?

I want to fire a few rockets into a building, have it explode and collapse.

How would you use realflow?

To do the rigid body sim, its a lot better than reactor.

I havent really done anything that complex in this area but I would say grab a copy of polyboost to help in cutting up the model. the only way to this well is to very painstakingly break up the mesh. that and using lots of layers in compositing. some live action smoke and some particles. you could have a combination of rigid body simulation and object fragments in a particle system and use particle flow for some smoky debris.

I think I am going to simulate the big pieces in RF, and maybe use some kind of particle system like you said.
