Hey guys, I'm trying to make a control panel type thing for one of my models, but have no idea on whats the best way to make/attach the various buttons, knobs dials etc. They dont have to animatable, static is fine

Should I make the items as seperate objects and attach them all? or should I extrude on the panel to get them?

~=~ Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried pushing a revolving door ~=~

It's going to be easiest to just model them all separately and place them where required. Then you can either attach them, group them or link them all to the control panel.

Yeah I would model/attach, gives you more scope for adding different shapes as extruding a round button is too much effort haha.

It's wierd, but I still forget this sometimes. Even working on the phone I found myself trying to cut and extrude shapes when it would have been 10 times quicker and easier to just do it as a separate object. I think it's because maya is frying my brain.
