Check this out, the canon 1D mark IV can shoot HD video at ******* insane ISO levels. They shot this little test video with ambient light at night, no practical lighting, and it looks stupidly good. You would expect something horribly underexposed and grainy under those conditions, apparently it can see significantly better in low light than the human eye.

and the HD version of the test video

That's crazy quality. Great news for the amateur film maker who wants to shoot at night, with the huge time and money savings.

the link to the main article works. and the video is at the bottom of the page.
in fact both the links work but for some reason the video link wants a password, no idea
just visit the first page and watch the video from there.

6400 is rediculous. I'm really feeling the age of my 400D now. It only goes up to 1600 ISO and is pretty grainy. It wouldn't be so bad if I had some decent lenses, but I don't. Also I discovered I have a dead pixel on my sensor. frown.gif

yeah Im feeling the pain with my D80... its having some ram issues. RAM. IN A FREAKING CAMERA. Goddamn.

I'm seriously considering switching to cannon soon though. specially since i have been playing with the 5d mark 2 at work. Good good times. Really good times. High ISO levels look pristine compared to my little d80.

Oh man. I wish i wasnt in debt up to my eyeballs.

Yeah the joys of digital, you have to deal witht he computer problems that comes with it >.<

I have recently been trying to deal with the "canon, nikon, canon, nikon" thing...

and also dealing with the "hmm this body is better, but if i go with a cheaper one I can get a better lense"

You know glass means more in the long run, but it is hard to tell yourself that when you know how much better quality the images will be on the better bodies...

but you also know how much clearer your images will be with better lenses...

God i hate buying stuff...
It is ok, I wouldn't talk to me either...

I still use my D80 often enough. I find it intresting that when you use a camera for a longer time, you get better at it and you know it's bad and good sides so you can prevent the bad side from happening pretty much.

I like both Canon and Nikon but Nikon is just my favourite..why? I don't know. smile.gif
