Step 1: Grab a nice hot cup of tea.
Step 2: Load up software.
Step 3: Search google for some good car modelling tutorials.
Step 4: Do exactly what it tells you to do in the tutorial.
Step 5: Grab another cup of tea to celebrate!!
Now, you should have a nicely modelled car .
No seriously though, I can't really tell you step by step. It's not really how you're going to learn and progress my friend. All I can do is give you some pointers. Ok, if I was to model a car, I would probably go for the poly model method. I have tried box modelling and it doesn't give me very good results. You NEED to model from blueprints to get an accurate representation. If I were you I'd make a plane in the top viewport and start making the wind screen. That's probably the best starting point when modelling a car. The rest, hmm, it's not easy to explain. It's just one of those things, you just have to do it for yourself and learn from your mistakes . Then you'll get better.
Good luck . Any help on anything specific, you know where we are .
P.S. It would useful to know how much experience you have with modelling. Are you just starting off or just inexperienced with this area of modelling? Have you tried modelling a car before?
i've seen many tutorials frm many websites... actually i've modelled the roof and the doors of the car too through plane & of course i set up the blueprints in all viewports. but what i'm not able to model is the front & the rear part of the car... i mean i've the blueprints but i'm getting a lot of triangles while modelling. well...i'm modelling Audi A4.
i'm also modelling another car- New Mini.
i went to the site u mentioned Steve.....but culdn't download the file...it wud be very kind of u to tell me the method of downloading the Audi A3 tutorial. i mean when i click on the download button a msg comes like -The file has been added tio ur basket & when i click on Begin Download ....it shows U r in Queue but nothing gets downloaded.....!! plz help fast....! thanx
You basically have to wait to get to the top of the queue. From memeory you have to watch and wait, it won't download automatically when you get to the top. It'll only allow you to be at the top of the queue for a minute or so (if that) and if you don't click the download link you'll get dumped back to the bottom. Try at a different time of day or late at night. Sometimes it's quicker than other times.
The car in the profile has been created by me in 3ds max......it's the Audi A4. ... and plz give ur comments abt it....click on the thumbnail to enlarge the pic...

Yep, if you are going to be showing your progress to us when you add details it would be nice to make a thread in the "3D WIPs" section and post the progress there.
