I've been working on this on and off for the past few weeks. Progress has been pretty slow as I've found it difficult to try and match all the subtle curves to the reference images I have. I used blueprints to model the basic shape but as I've started more detailed modelling, I've relied less and less on the blueprints and more on the reference images. I haven't realy done a great deal on the back so I won't post a pic until I've done a bit more.
Looking awesome dude. Can't pick it but I'm not very well informed about cars to say the least. When its done, try the mental ray car paint shader it looks very nice.
Nope, not as high profile as a Skyline. I'll try and get some more pics up soon. Maybe I should offer a prize to the person who picks it first...[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
Haha, no, you all suck. Actually, I don't think this particular model was ever released outside Japan (could be wrong there) so I should probably ease up on you. It has developed a bit of a cult following with importers in many countries though and similar models have been released around the world.
There's an update at the top by the way. (middle image doesn't work due to stupidity of poster.)[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
I'm gonna post it on a forum dedicated to this particular car to get some more feedback about the shape. I hope they bloody recognise it. [Link to www.3dprevis.com]
I'll be crushed. I'll let you know what happens when I do. I just have to add the finer details and the exterior's pretty much done. Then I just have to do the interior, wheels, materials etc...[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
Got pretty good feedback generally, though they did suggest I change afew minor things which I'm working on now. The tyres I've used are from the mag I made last year, but I'm not gonna use the mag itself as I want to do another set. Can't wait to start putting some materials on it...[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
Looks awesome, makes me want to have another go at a car model. Unfortunately I don't have time for much of anything lately.
I can't wait to see the paint. May I suggest having an alternate racing paint scheme with 3DS Max Forum as the main sponsor?
hahaha
Chris
