I have a character model and skeleton that I need to weight. I modified the skeleton to fit the mesh and applied a skin modifier to the Editable Poly model; however, upon adding the bones, none of the verts were given weight, and when I change the envelopes, nothing changes (other than the size of the envelope).

Is this a common problem? How can I have the envelopes correctly apply weight to my model?

I've had this issue in the past also... Seem like I could make a simple cylinder and bones would work great, but on a complex geometery, I never could get it to work right. I'm going to have to start studying on that after I finish fine tuning UVW Unwrapping. Some of these guys will be able to help you out.

I managed to get it working by randomly clicking on things. I'll be damned if I can get it to work on the next character I'm working on. wink.gif
