Good stuff dude, Do you want crits? We need to come up with a system on this site for people to just post stuff that isn't final portfolio pieces, but not necessarily something they want crits on either.

Also what res did you record this in and how long was the original video, I want to do speedpaintings but I am not sure was res to use etc. File sizes can be pretty huge after an hour or so.

I recorded the timelapse with camtasia. using timelapse mode I had it recording 5 frames every 2 seconds and then output a 30 fps video file. I needed to convert it from its native techsmith codec and it kept giving me errors when I tried to make a quicktime mpeg 4 clip. I probably need to download some extra codecs. So I tried a few other weird options finally getting a very small (4.5meg) file using .wmv with some broadand streaming video preset setting.
The video was 800X600 but the initial capture was at 1024X768. Ive been meaning to do a test uploading a video to display in HD on youtube. but I recently re-formatted my machine and its missing loads of bits and pieces so I keep getting errors. I just use VLC for most stuff so I havent installed divx and xvid codecs. but I don't get why camtasia wont export to quicktime. Apparently if you use quicktime with H.264 codec at 1024X768 youtube will give you the HD option. Maybe for my next video huh smile.gif

As for crits, I'm open to suggestions but I guess this was really just a practice session. I'm probably not going to use it for anything beyond the sketch. If I get inspired I might finish him off and adjust some of the details.

Cheers for that, as someone who doesn't do any sketching, it's good to see what's involved.
