That's really good for your first bit of modeling. The textures look quite good too.

They are sitting out in the middle of "nowhere". Ive started work on the room itself, and yes, the lighting will change. This was just the table and chairs sitting in the space where I modeled them.

Good stuff. Changing the Rendering -> Environment to white might help with the lighting problem while your still working on it.

Ok, Ive made some progress. Lighting was always my weakness and with Max it's even more of a task.
