Hi,
I'm about an intermediate 3ds Max modeller, mainly for game mods .ect, however, there is this simple problem i can't seem to get around. I want to render an aircraft model in every single attitude within 5 degree increments in every direction. As you can imagine, it would take a life time to adjust by 5 degrees every time and render a frame, so i have the aircraft animated to spin around at 5 degrees per frame until it has done a full circle, then the bank is animated to increase by 5 degrees as it spins again. This repeats over and over until the aircraft is at 90 degrees bank and has completed every direction in every bank of 5 degree increments.
There is no problem here, but when i get to the part where i combine bank with angle of attack I run into some problems. It seems that when i set the default attitude of the aircraft to, say, 45 degrees nose up and let the rendering run, the pivots seem to conflict, and instead of having an aircraft rendered with for instance, nose up 45/ bank 45 and the appropriate directional heading, It seems like the plane's position is wrong. A classic example of this is when the plane is set to 45 degrees nose up initially, but when it reaches a bank of 90, heading 360 degrees it is facing to my right, belly facing me, and nose pointed 45 up/right (when it should in fact be facing 'into the screen', on its side, cockpit facing to my right, and nose up 45).
Sorry about the confusing description, but its the best I can do with such a problem! I have no idea how to tackle this problem, i have tried so many options, with the only one working being the manual adjust-render option (for a whopping several thousand frames!). Any help would be much appreciated!!
