Hi everyone, I'm new. I'm new to Max as I usually use Swift3D so please bear with me. I have started using Max for this project due to the neccessity for some complex boolean work.

Anyway, I have drawn a shape from an arc and a bunch of lines in the middle. I want to extrude this to create a solid with the lines causing a 'hole' or ridge in the middle. When I extrude at the moment, the lines are empty, not filled or solid so to speak.

How can I join the vertices of the top two lines to the arc end point to create a complete solid?

Thanks very much, looking forward to the help.

Regards

Dave01

Hi all, silly me...

I literally came off from writing this into Max and several minutes later realised...

Select object (lin drawing), modify menu, geometry section click attach and click the object.

Writing that post must have given me inspiration to suddenly get it right! Thanks anyway

Again, apologies...

Although I have now created a whole element, when I try to extrude it, it only extrudes the lines. Is there anyway to create a solid from the lines? A sort of 'fill' if you like?

Thanks again ...

Can you post a picture of the lines so we can get a better idea of what you are trying to do?

Turn on vertex snap (optional) and draw a new spline to close the shape, if you choose create line from the editable spline menu you don't need to attach the new spline otherwise attach into a single spline object. select each set of unconnected points and hit the "fuse" button to put them in the same spot, then "weld" to collapse them into a single point. If the spline is closed it should extrude the way you want it to.
