I really like it. nice mood. maybe try a IES light for the hanging lamp for a patterned effect like an old fashioned light bulb.
also the light fitting seems to be getting illuminated from nowhere. The fitting should probably be in shadow. are you using fake reflections on it or some sort of self illumination?.
thanx, this is like my first shot at lighting interiors lol..
yeah that was what i was worried about too, I just used photometric lights looks like its glowing, wht could be the problem?
oh yeah nice idea, ill put on some IES

If this is your first interior lightning work I'd say you did a really good job. Congratulations. I really like the blueish colour and as Tyson advised try to go with a IES light.
thanx mate, yeah I did "try" some stuff before like playing around with portals etc, but as interior this is the first which I took
ima try the IES's now

i like the mood, and i agree with everyone to use IES, also that color change from tinted blue lighting to mixed yellow / green is kinda strange looking

you read my mind, that would be great too, also some graffiti on the walls, a bit of dirt and damage

i'd like to see it look older, and more in disrepair. like altopais said "a bit of dirt and damage".
the first great thing i'm expecting is a mix map to add some real discolouration to the walls, and possibly heaps of noise as well.
a few corpses/skeletons lying around would certainly fit the theme

somehow, their arsenal of feathery weapons ("Healing brush", "Magic Wand" doesn't scare me.
on the other hand, we 3d goons are equipped with menacing tools such as Deformations, Slice, Cut, Quick-Slice (for you slow slicers), Mental Ray (which sounds like something out of James Bond), and so on...
so, i'm with the bigger posse.

I think the render as you have it now is pretty cool. of course you can implent more things, and improvings are almost possible everywhere in a regular cg scene.
My thought on this render or scene, however you want to call it here, Is that with the camera position, you greatly try to attract the viewer to the stairwell and the window. I really really like the ambience you create through the dim blue light and the yellowish in the front. It is that silent blue, and even when the world is out there, you feel completely closed in from the outter busy world. and to create that ambience, you need alot of patience and correct feelings to get that bit of lightning right and you really did that.
I really like the concept and I think that whatever you do with it, you can only improve it.
My suggestions.... Even if i love the render right now.
-A stuco texture with a nice bump and specular map for the main walls, and a bit of teared open stucco where you can see old tiles sticking out. maybe some old water pipes coming down from the sidewalls.
- some graffiti, but then again, grafiti creates another ambience. you can go for the old deserted building or for a more open and urban cracked house. I like the first one better.
- Newspapers on the floor, like 2 or 3 in the corners.
wow, damn i love this place for this one reason and many more
im implementing those right away, updating soon!!
<33 u all who commmented!
