He could still export to normal maps, then lower the poly count. The new zbrush has new texture tools that rock.

Yeah I had a Giggle attack the first time I enlarged the upper lip or swelled the lower jaw of the generic head. Its weird how a small adjustment can turn a face from heavy super villian to wimpy super geek. its all in the chin!!.
Traditional skills will make you a better modeller for sure. not just in zbrush either. and if you havent got a wacom tablet zbrush is pretty much designed for it. you will suddenly become obsessed.

even though the intuos 3 or now the intuos 4 are both highly recommended. the old intuos 2 tablets are perfectly sufficient for this kind of work.
I havent used the "bamboo" range of budget wacom tablets but i would guess that they probably work something like the intuos 2.
For $79 its worth getting one for sure and if you can afford an intuos 3 or 4 go for it. even just for painting textures.

hey that's not too bad actually..... will try and get it once i'm done mucking about with the mouse!
i'm of the "suffer first, take it easy later" philosophy (eg: i suffered hard on an acoustic guitar for almost 1.5 - 2 years before i even bought an electric grin.gif)
but yeah even though i know nothing (yet) of painting textures, i can easily see what you mean.
i used a Noise brush/tool and painted over this bizarre model i created, and my jaw literally dropped.
the wretched model practically came alive with skin-like texture!

I use a Graphire 3, and its perfectly fine for retouching and texture editing work. Maybe a little clunky for outright painting though.

See if you can pick one up on ebay for cheapness.
