Hey All,
Always with the interesting questions.... but I am keen to detach (rip, disconnect) a viewport from Max's interface... sort of the way a photoshop document floats independent from the app. Basically having a floating view from the camera on a second screen, whilst still having the regular four view setup in max on screen one!
I seem to remember doing it before, but can't be 100% sure!!!
Thanx
B

I'm not sure that you can actually. It would be pretty usefull to have it with a dualview monitor setup but I haven't ever found a way to do it.

DS support would be amazing, have a camera, or pespective viewport in one, and have the other monitor as 2x2 views or whatever.

Yup, that's exactly what I am thinking... what would be cool is a separated view just like the Render Window, which actually could be part of the render window... but realtime like a viewport... and only renders when you ask it too...

Erm, yeah I suppose. I have never really played with Active shade... (turned it on, and poked around, but thats about it) but here at our studio the Modo guys have exactly what I am looking for, lol!!!
Anyway, i am surviving with just a render window and turning down the render settings!
