So i checked out the new android OS and went straight to our forum. It seems to work ok. I couldn't log in for some reason but the phone was very slow loading. There were a few other non DAF issues with the phone.
The BlackBerry bold browser seems to work ok but I didn't want to risk losing my password to, what appeared to be, a suspicious looking salesman. (He had a beard )
I want to check the Iphone safari browser and the nokia browser.
Note: I don't feel DAF needs to make a mobile version of the site. Mobile needs to conform to DAF.
I believe VarnishedOtter was planning a mobile version, dont quote on when though!

It was only last night I was discussing this with ATG.
By mobile version of the site, I mean that some tools could be added to make browsing the site easier on a smaller screen.
For example, I regularly use an iPhone to browse the site so here are my observations:
It is a pain to log in all the time, anyone whos used an iphone knows that typing in passwords is tedious as the autocorrect feature cant work for this, and you cant save passwords. I propose a "phone pairing" system, where once paired your mobile will remain logged into your account until you unpair it.
Long threads are rediculously hard to navigate, as the iphone only renders the portion of the site you're currently have on the screen, so if you scroll too fast the rendering cant keep up. This makes it hard to just scroll through and identify new posts as you can on PC. I propose to fold up posts you've already seen and only show by default posts you haven't read yet, and unfold the other posts of you click on them.
Perhaps also just a list in order of the recently modified threads for easy access.
But other than that the site works well on the iPhone, all the java actually works properly. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
That is a brilliant idea. I use my Iphone to check the site regularly. The site looks and works well in Safari but the long threads are a pain in the arse. It would be an improvement in general because sometimes these threads can get pretty damn long and finding the new post is a bit difficult when its not at the bottom. Look forward to that one.
