While using 3ds Max 9, I've recently come across a little annoying problem.

It involves the coordinate system and doors and windows. When using the move and select tool, I always seem to have to enter the coordinate twice into the X,Y,Z box. Once my coordinate is actually accepted, the program sometimes seems to rather input its own coordinate instead. For example, I input 1.6 into the Z coordinate twice. The second time, instead of registering 1.6, 3ds Max registers 3. I input 1.6 again, but 3ds Max registers 0.6.

Then if that isn't enough, after saving, exiting and reloading the program, I return to see my work in a mess. Windows and doors are all over the place, however it seems that only the Z axis is affected.

Anyone have an idea to solve this?

Also, my transform gizmo isn't showing up anymore, even when i click "Show transform gizmo" in the view menu.

I don't seem to be getting the same problem, the only thing that comes to mind is maybe its to do with round off error due to the scale of your scene. Try changing the units set-up:

Customise>units setup, then set both the system and display unit scale to centimeters.

As for your Gizmo the only other way you can disable/enable it is by either using the toggle (X)
or going into customise>preferences>Gizmos.

That's a really weird error. It's certainly not rare for max to do weird things from time to time, but more often than not closing and reopening the program will fix it. Try starting a new scene and merging all the old objects into it. Sometimes this can fix weird bugs like that.

If that doesn't work, merge the objects into a new scene 1 by 1 and see which one is causing the problem.
