Hi, i'm new here, looks likea great forum... Hello to everyone.

My question is, Is it possible/how can i extrude a peace of a colour.
Like in bump texturing where the black part is far back and the white is pressed out, except the white peace being pushed out into a 3d object and the black part to not be there at all (like when you extrude text)

Put the image in the Bump or Displace slot and the Opacity slot of the material you're going to assign to the object.

I just tried but it seems to be really bury I'm looking for really defined edges. The image i used was a png and 2880x900 and the only colours on there where black and white. is there some kind of displacement resolution setting?

Try using a regular displace modifier, can you show the wireframe of the object you are applying it too also?

With the regular displacement modifier it seems that the more segments you have the clearer the displacement, to make it look the way i want it i would need way more segments than what is practicable.

The object i used for the other displacements was just a 150x150 5x5seg plane

I'd probably go with vray displace and drop the edge length right down. This should give you cleaner displacement but your render times will be really slow.
