Hey as some of you already know I'm working on a kind of 3D face for my current university project. I'm almost done (or at least enough to pass with) and I'm about to start texturing.

So, I was wondering does anyone have any images for texturing a sphere to look like an eyeball? I thought this was included in max but it doesnt look like I have any.

Blue eyes would be preferable but I'm not fussy.

Thanks

Thanks, I actually managed to find an image of a brown eye and edit it for max, I think it turned out alright.

I know theyre not perfect, but what do you think?

Its a good start! You're throwing your self at the project, so i think you're going to get good fast.

The eyes, the focus of this thread, are also a good start. But i bet you're not satisfied with them. I bet you're already thinking of ways to give them that glassy look. Think about how an eye is built. If anything, apply a glass dome over the iris.

Check out 'Target weld': make vert A attach to vert B.

Watch people use editable poly. Get familiar with what the action of modeling looks like.

Like most software you get to a point where you don't think about the tools, only the shape of the object.
If i'm too preachy, forgive me, but i believe in your new skill.

Here, this tutorial I used to paint some realistic eyes in photoshop from scratch. It worked very well for me.

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate the kind words as well, isaacg.

I may have a play with the eyes, but mainly I'm not going to be working on this project much more. I'm handing it in on Tuesday, and to be honest I'll be glad to put it behind me. I've learned some cool things, but I cant say I've enjoyed it.

However I'm hoping I'll be able to use some of the things I've learned for my main project, my dissertation which is going to be building a 'level' set in the Devil May Cry game universe. I'm hoping to really throw myself into that project, and come out with some of my best work, so I'll be sure to know where to come for advice.
