What do you guys think of my first attempt at a fighter jet? I started it for a mod, but never finished it.

Looks like the beginning of an F-18A Hornet.

Convert to edit poly. Then your cylinder should have divisions allong it already. Click one of the edges and then hit the Loop button, this will select all the edges of that section, then scale them all to suit.

Mesh might work the same. I think poly is better though.

Agreed, editable poly has better tools.
Nice model by the way, much better than my first attempt at a jet. I didn't get much past the nose cone.

Try starting off with your cylinder. Give it a few segments. Give it an "Edit Poly" modifier. Start reducing the size of the segments going out toward the tip. You should be able to give yourselve a nice rounded effect. Then throw a "Turbo Smooth" modifier on it.

Hope this helps. If I was at home, I'd show you a sample.

Did it for ya.

Use the same technique for a basic fuselage.
