Hello all. I've been not around for awhile, with a reason smile.gif

I have been studieng PFTRACK for awhile. look it up on google or youtube to find more about this powerfull program.

Motion tracking is all about shooting footage with a camera in real and importing and compositing 3d models into them later.

well, i am very proud to present the short but powerfull first project!

Rendered = Vray 1.50

Very cool indeed. I'll just add that to "Gerard's list of things to learn". It's getting very long.

cool, tracking can be a tricky business. Now lets see the car animated smile.gif

If this one isnt free theres a cool tracker called voodoo, I used it a few times works pretty well.

Thanks , yes indeed, it can be tricky. and yes, the next part will be animating it smile.gif or walk around the car completely.

Voodoo is a nice program to, but has not the best camera solving.

Thanks smile.gif

Just out of interest, how long did the tracking take you? And was there much preparation required when you shot the video, or did you just turn the camera on and press record?

This footage was shot quite a while ago on vacation, didnt even know about tracking back then hehe. So yes, the shot is very random. the back of the car slips away sometimes because i forgot to align it with more helpers in there. anyway, i am glad with it as first results.

tracking takes long time if you dont have a strong pc smile.gif

Old footage hey? Cool. I always had fears that you'd have to do some sort of preparation (markers etc) before shooting for it to work.

True, about the markers, it is handy and more quicker for camera solving to use those. like when you'd like to track a helmet on your head, applying 2 or 3 yellow pieces of duct tape would really help and tighten up the motion smile.gif

But wouldn't you spend the time you save trying to get rid of the duct tape in the comp?

I think the idea is that you put the markers where you would but your comped objects.
