Hello, im newbie to 3d studio max 9, can anyone teach me how to extrude the face of 2d object, example, i created a square, i want to put an arc to a vertex an then extrude the surface creating a new 3d object
thank you all!!! (excuse my english!)

you answered your own question..... you just apply an "Extrude" modifier to your square or whatever, and it becomes 3d (set extrude amount)

If you could draw a diagram I think it would help as you may be confusing terms.
