If you want a good laugh, check out my new animation using FumeFX. I'm in the process of fixing the flame on the match, but wanted to just put this out there. Click on the link, go the the "Animation Gallery" and click on the last thumbnail with the match box. [Link to www.3dartconcepts.com]
Believe it or not, I put 2 shades of blue in the gradient map and turn on fuel, which is supposed to be blue, but it didn't show up. I've been experimenting some more and I believe since I used VRay lights as the light source, it drowns out the darker colors. I didn't use particle flow in this animation, just the free flow of the plugin on a mesh object. I just started experimenting on a particle flow system though and found a really cool way to make a flame thrower. I'll post some examples later.

can't wait to see it....have always wanted to make a flame-thrower, ever since i saw that scene in Aliens where she torches all the eggs! oh and i used to love the flame-thrower in Fallout (not 3, the old ones - haven't played 3 yet)

Ya, I was being goofy.. I had my mic next to a pad of paper and had a pencil in my hand. Just tapped the eraser on the pad to make the hit noises, ran my pencil led down the spiral to make the match strike and just grunted into the mic and used Adobe Audition to change the pitches...lol It's my corning animation of the month...lol

Yea, I'm not quite sure why the candle came out different. I have a feeling it was because of what I put it on. You have to have a separate mesh for where you want to put the flame. I had to put the flame on an end bone, so I should have shrank it to work better, but hey, it's all a learning experience, right?!!!
