hello, im new
could you tell me how can i add some grass on an hill i made?
i don't want to add a texture but some 3d grass which will cover the hill

Most 3d applications have a hair and fur system which can be used to make grass. That'd probably be the quickest way. What program are you using?

That's good smile.gif What renderer are you using? the default max one called Scanline Render or Mental ray or Vray?

There are multiple ways to create realistic grass. one way is like Steve mentions, a Hair and Fur system.

If you do not have those, you can use Bump or Displace maps to make the surface look detailed and actually have different heights.

I am not sure how much you already now about materials so here is a simple tutorial which will guide you in the right direction.

You could model a couple of blades of grass and then use the Scatter compound object with your hill as the distrubution object.
