So I didnt see this topic yesterday where I actually was meant to say hi and all that jazz. So here goes!

I'm Gee. I havent done hardly any 3d work in my life, though I'd love to learn the basics at some point soon. I am however a photographer and digital artist. Varnished Otter thought I was cool enough as a photo nerd to be a moderator around here. Soooo I'm making it my job to pull some photography and digital artists into the site and to get that side moving.

I mainly specialise in portraiture, live gig photography and digital retouching. I use a Nikon D80 slr wich i lovingly named Jamie and I have named my computers Eddie and Trillian. I'm from the sleepy town of Adelaide in Australia.

What else? I cant think of anything right now.

ha ha ha! Yeah, I couldnt work out if the camera needed a girl name or a boy name... so I decided on jamie as it worked for either way. Turns out the camera was a boy in the end. Seriously... cameras have genders I swear

ouch yeah. I get enough pain out of spending five minutes trying to get one light at the right exposure let alone months modeling something!

I'm not sure I agree with that. Most everyone I can think of is only into 3d because they are passionate about it. maybe not always passionate about their jobs, but they all seem to hunger to keep doing 3d in their spare time which can't be said for many job descriptions.

And Jamie did i miss interpret your meaning when you said above about a lack of passion in the 3d industry. just curious?

haha yeah I'm surprised I havent signed up before. I have known Mr Otter for a while and hes helped me out with some stuff in the past. Yeah the new people are from UniSA where I have been at for so many years its getting stupid... and were all up for supporting local sites and talent so... yeah, Hope everyone gets along and new faces help jamie and otter out.

yeah jamie, i know what you mean -- you spend all your time modelling, going GAH its the end, then you have to UVW map until your eyeballs drop out... then just when you think its over you get to texture (fun yay) and light and then GAH render!! but you gotta do it cos it looks awesome in the end and it all pays off! ....its like with anything really, if you love it you live and breathe it, and 3D requires a ridiculous amount of patience and planning..... +insanity
