Hi Everyone i'm a beginner to 3DStudio Max. I've only just started trying to grapple with the software. it makes my head hurt. i Really like this place, All of you artwork on here is Awesome! cant wait to learn how to do some of the things you guys do and i'd love any advice or brutally honest comments on any work i post.

Hey, welcome to the front. Nice Katana! You seem to have a pretty good grasp to be "grappling"

Wow thanks for the welcome guys. your work is really good. im just begining really, any ideas on what i can do to improve?

i really can't think of anything, it's a good model, great camera angle, well actually you could add a texture map to that rope wrapped around the handle and a slight bump too. Anyhow looks great.

well thanks alot. ill try figure out the bump and texture map next. this is all new to me still hehe im just clicking buttons and seeing what happens. cheers for the reply

welcome, and yes, i don't think you have the right to call yourself "grappling" anymore...perhaps "grappled" would be more appropriate smile.gif
i would like to see more of the katana though.....maybe adjust the camera angle just a small bit so much more of the blade comes into view?
almost as if we are looking down that blade

Thanks everyone for the comments and welcomes. ill post a few shots of that katana in the 3d section and try some of the things you suggested. thanks for your help.
