hi guys,

i just got hired by an architectural firm, and i need to learn studio max. i'm a graphic designer and i have no previous knowledge of 3d max. they don't want me to learn it right away, but they want to me to start getting to know the program and maybe help render things down the road.

i've been browsing through many forums and tutorial sites, but i don't know where to start. i'm using a pirated version of max 7, and it doesn't have tuturials included.

well, could you guys recommend me the most well known and easy to use tuturials for dummies like myself? something easy enough that i don't give up from the start. i tried some of the hard tutorials and i didn't know what da hell they were talkin about. i need something extremely easy. like learning the tools and etc. i will buy the book later as well.

please help me out! thanks!

you can download the autodesk tutes for max on this page:

They're officially for max 2008 but most of it will be the same for max 7. In fact, most of the tutorials haven't changed for the past few releases, they've just added new tutorials for new features such as hair and cloth etc.

Don't forget to get a legit copy of max if you're going to be doing any commercial work.

Possibly, depends on how well you pick it up. I would suggest taking a short course in 3ds max (1 or 2 weeks) to really speed things up. You might be able to convince your work to pay for it. What country are you living in?
