Looks like the next Soldier of Fortune game won't make it to Australia due to it being banned for excessive violence. Apparently they didn't like the way that the limbs flew off when you shot them. Seriously, you see dismemberment and worse in movies, why the double standard? And if you look at the movie on the link below, it doesn't really look that much different to any other FPS with a decent physics system. It's just that the bodies come apart a bit more.
the reason for the double standard is that games are interactive therefore all us mindless, brainless peons would be on video game induced killing sprees if it weren't for the OFLC protecting our fragile little minds. also everyone knows its only children aged 5 - 10 who play video games and we can't have children exposed to this violence (I am really abusing sarcasm at this point).
censorship is bullshit but if you want the game bad enough it will be available on any number of torrent sites and many people will get it from there. so good work OFLC.
and it's a story that might bore you, but you don't have to listen, because I always knew it was going to be like that.
Well I didn't even know the game existed until I saw the article saying that it was banned. I'm probably more likely to download it now that they've banned it. So if you see me on the news charged with murdering 20 innocent people, you'll know that the OFLC was right to ban it.[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
