i wanna make my floor materials shiny or glossy so that the furnitures and the other object will reflect to the floor???thanks!!
i wish i can do that too......
i need more practice....
1. Use a vray material: Make the reflection colour grey or nearly white. diffuse can be a texture or a colour. make glossyness below 1.0 to get a shiny highlight. values like 0.8 or 0.9 will give you a very shiny material and values like 0.5 or 0.6 will make a very rough reflective surface. A value of zero in the glossyness will be completely diffuse. its still reflective but the reflections are so blurry they become like a matte surface. similar to how matte materials are in reality. Increase the subdivs to something around 30 to make glossyness smooth so you can see the objects in a blurry reflection.
2. Use a standard material and use a vray map in the reflection slot. build a standard material with diffuse, bump etc.. then put a vray map in the reflection slot as you would with a raytrace map. adjust the reflection colour and glossyness within the vray map.
