probably a higher res hdri would improve the quality. Try tileing and rotating the image to fit as you want it, also enable showbackground in viewport to see how much do you need to rotate it, it takes a second or two to update the viewport when you rotate, if it doesn't update, then just uncheck show background and check it again, it will update,

The two gems on the right look great, they have a very convincing Diamond look. The blue one on the left, (sapphire?) seems too far out of scale with the others, it doesn't seem to fit the scene, also the material on the small one on the left looks kind of like plastic, not sure what type of gem it's supposed to be.
The "ground" material looks like water and makes it look impossible for the gems to be sitting on it . I would reduce the reflectivity on the ground and use caustics on the gems.
ohh ok.. just found out browsing last night some of the basic parameters of vray are explained Im gonna read and try what really their functions are... I will try to post it here too for others to understand.. thx
to tell u honestly I just mess out the settings on the scene I don't even know what are the functions of some I applied to it .. but I think caustics it the silver this reflection of the ground from the diamonds...

What the above to members said was correct If this is your first try with Hdri I'd start out with a grey plane or box where you place the gems on. The caustics are a good idea aswell. If you would use a grey plane, with no reflectivity, you could see and learn what HDRI does. Maybe even apply the HDRI map as lightning to your scene to get even more realisticly lightened shadows and temperatures [colours]. Then, If you feel comfortable with that, make the plane tiny bits more reflective and keep on trying as you go with that
Reflective ground is fine , it's not bad. But to understand HDRI, you might go ahead and try different ground planes to put those gems on. Multiple ways are possible, of course.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with having a reflective surface for a ground plane. I was just saying that, in this case it's distracting. A less reflective surface would draw more attention to the gems. Also it does look like water instead of a solid surface. It's all a matter of opinion a and taste.
