do the absolutley need to be connected or can you fake it? I think I just faked it in mine. In Wings there was a tool called Bridge. But I dont think it does the same thing in max.

i use editable mesh becasue i dont really know the difference between only thing i know is that there is like a line down the middle of a polgon in editable mesh but you dont see it because its invisble.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure of the difference. I just use Poly because it behaves the same as wings did.

Yep, that's why you should use editable poly. smile.gif If you really want to join them up, you'll have to cut the appropriate holes and then use the bridge tool. But as the otter said you could just fake it. Are you using and meshsmoothing?
