I am very new to 3d Studio Max, and my only experience with 3d animation is Lightwave from about 4 years ago.

I am currently working on a digital prototype of a set for an opera that has a multitude of moving platforms. So far I have got it set up to run thought the different acts to show how the set can function. I am more or using this as a storyboard for a presentation. I really can't figure out how (or if there is even a way) to delay the transition to the next scene, so I won't hop into movement right away.

Or is there away to copy and paste key frames, so for example lets say at frame 120 act 1 scene 1 has transitioned from preshow. Is there a way to copy frame 120 and paste it at frame 180 to start the movement going into act1 scene 2?

Thanks

First welcome to the site. Ok so you want to copy and paste keyframes, you select the keyframe and then shift+drag it to copy. Hope that helps.
