No rules. Just make your image have a weapon with plenty of scifi.
Videos should be ok, HOWEVER the site doesn't support that correctly in challenge section.
New users, here's a direct link to the challenges if you don't see the button at the top, for some reason: [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com]
Unless I hear that someone doesn't want this or I'm removed as moderator I'm posting the challenge in the near future. I'll be sure to post the first entry with the challenge to set the standard!
Muahaha. Everyone's too scared to compete with me
They should rename the "Challenge" section to "Place where Isaac gets a billion gold metals with no effort" section.
I'm just tryin to upload my entry to the challenge section....What you have to know is that I started modeling without any plans and it's all improvised. It's some kind of self controlled aircraft with laser guns and some other weps that you cant see and I cant tell you anything about cuz its top secret
The thing is called Killer Octopus in the honor of one really sad octopus
Worked on it 4-5 hours last night cuz I couldnt sleep knowin' that an octopus is sad...so all this work was done just to make an octopus happy
I hope it fits the challenge :/ and ohm....any feedback would be appretiated

Does a moderator have to approve entries? Because my entry just wont show up...I submitted two times and nothing happened....
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
I tried all the formats I know, reduced the resolution and size of the image but the entry just wont show up. Looks like I wont get any medal
Anyway, if I already made it, here it is:
edit: I just installed chrome and had no issues uploading it...strange
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
Good to hear that. It means I did something right
Anyway, you still have some time to do another one, and KO me from the challenge
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
Well I wouldn't be surprised if you would make somethin' lot better than my image.
Btw, I'm pretty sure you were into 3d modeling too but I haven't seen anything like that from you for long time. You don't do 3d modeling anymore?
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
Oh, I see...Well yeah, there are lot of powerful 2d softwares as well, and you can do almost anything with them too if you know how to use them.
I'm trying to get into 2d too lately. Just doin' my second vector in illustrator.
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
I can imagine, never tried that tho....I'm going for photorealism but this one I'm working on atm. won't be too good probably...well I'll upload it once I finish it

I'm using a free program called Inkscape. I don't think it runs very well in windows, according to my friend's computer. I used to be a big Adobe Illustrator person and used it for work, however. But it's been a while.
Lot of free programs just won't work on windows which sux a bit. I used to use Code::Blocks for few months which is a great alternative for c++ on linux. That had some issues too when I tried it on windows
"Criticizing is easy, art is difficult."
"Code::Blocks"? Never heard of it. I should check it out.
I know there are major differences in the way Linux manages data between the hardware and applications. I think lots of stuff is written to text files by the application. That might mean any desktop application might have to undergo a huge change before going to another OS.
