Hi Guys i have trying for a while now on certain glasses and i cannot get the ice cubes looking like ice cubes lol smile.gifsmile.gif can anyone do me a little short tutorial on them.

I have looked for tutorial on the internet and they have been telling me to use noise i have also tried that and they still do not look right.

Are you using VRay or Scanline Rendering? That will make a difference in the tutorial.

I see you applied the turbosmooth to the glass. You also need to apply it to the cubes.

Then if you are using vray, use a vray material turn the refract all the way up, set the diffuse to white and apply a noise map to the refract map slot. Adjust the size of the noise so it becomes grainy and not lumpy.

Okay thanks spit fire and varnished just one question i have not got vray is vray a texture cause i have not got a clue what it is. thanks in advance

Thanks! Its not hollowed, thats just the refraction I think.

I fixed it, I forgot to set the IOR.

The IOR of ice is 1.31.

thanks for this guys i did what you said varnished and applied them to the glass and this is the result i come up with and thanks spitfire thats been a big help thanks guys.

Once you've installed it, start max and bring up your render scene dialog. Scroll down to the assign renderer bit and click the "..." button next to "production:" If you've installed it correctly it should show up in the available list. Then you just have to select it.
